Pre-Surgical Rehabilitation
Pre-surgical rehabilitation also known as “prehab” is growing in popularity as patients, physical therapists, and surgeons are noticing improved post-surgical outcomes of those who complete a course of pre-surgical PT. The focus of prehab is to improve the functional capacity of the patient prior to their surgical procedure with the goal of improving their post-surgical recovery. Prehab sessions will focus on patient education, pain management, therapeutic exercises including strengthening, flexibility, and stability based interventions, hands-on treatment, and modalities, as indicated. Our team of therapists will work with you to develop an individualized plan to ensure you are properly prepared both physically and mentally for your surgery.
Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
Physical therapy following your surgery is extremely important to ensure a full recovery. Post-surgical PT will focus on pain management, improving range of motion, and improving strength with the goal of achieving a full return to your desired activity level. Our team of physical therapists works closely with your referring physician to ensure that your post-operative care is individualized. Our therapists are well versed in treating various post-surgical patients including total joint replacements, rotator cuff repair and other related shoulder surgeries, spine surgeries including cervical and lumbar fusions, discectomies, and laminectomies, knee reconstructions, fractures of the spine, upper, or lower extremities, and many other surgical presentations.
